Australia – 2025 CIS Tenders Streamlined
Australia’s Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water has simplified its Capacity Investment Scheme by moving to a single-stage bidding process. Bid preparation time is now 6 to 8 weeks, and outcomes will be announced within 6 months. Four tenders are expected in 2025—two for the WEM in August and two for the NEM between September and November.

California – Coval Infra Proposes 9.2 GWh BESS Project
Coval Infrastructure has applied for approval from the California Energy Commission for a 9.2 GWh long-duration battery storage project in Los Angeles County. The project falls under California’s voluntary permitting pathway for large-scale storage projects over 200 MWh.


Romania – 196.4 MWh BESS Project Awarded to EPC
A subsidiary of Guris Group has selected Simtel Team as the EPC contractor for a 98.6 MW / 196.4 MWh battery storage project in Romania. The system is designed to support grid flexibility and clean energy integration.


United Kingdom – Gresham House Secures Floor Price Deals for 789 MW
Gresham House Energy Storage Fund has signed floor pricing agreements covering 789 MW of its battery storage portfolio. This includes 412 MW with Statkraft starting in 2025 and 377 MW with Markel Bermuda. These contracts guarantee a minimum annual revenue of 35 million GBP and will replace the fund’s current tolling agreement with Octopus Energy.
